We consume around 4,000 liters of water per day (and we don't even notice it), Follow the Money.
For this project, I used an article about water scarcity from Follow the Money. FTM is a platform for radically independent investigative journalism. The articles on Follow the Money are aimed at adults, not young people. That’s why I wanted to transform this article into an engaging visual interface for both young and old, to involve younger audiences in the topic of water scarcity as well.
Idea/concept
I wanted to make this article more visual and interactive for both young and old, in the form of a one-page website. I aim to visually showcase the causes and consequences of water scarcity while making the website interactive, allowing users to explore information in a discovery-driven way. This approach will make reading a dry article more engaging for both young and old. The goal I want to achieve with this website is to inspire behavioral change and raise awareness, leading to reduced or limited water scarcity.

Ja! Zelfs tandenpoetsen zorgt voor waterverspilling. Wat veel mensen doen tijdens het tandenpoetsen is de kraan aan laten staan terwijl ze geen water nodig hebben! Er wordt hierbij 6-8 liter water verspild.

Ik wilde dit artikel visueler en interactief maken voor jong en oud in de vorm van een onepage/website. Hierbij wil ik de oorzaken en gevolgen van waterschaarste op een visuele manier laten zien en de website interactief maken zodat gebruikers zelf op zoek kunnen gaan naar informatie op een ontdekkende wijze. Op deze manier wordt het lezen van een saaie artikel leuker voor jong en oud. Het doel wat ik wil behalen met het maken van deze website is mensen aanzetten tot gedragsverandering/bewustwording wat voor minder/beperkte waterschaarste zorgt.
